ROKTalk has been designed to be as accessible as possible, and only uses common technology that is fundamentally supported on all browsers. It is quick and easy for website owners to deploy, and end users can benefit from its features instantly.
Website owners
ROKTalk is delivered as a service, so the only technical requirement is the ability to add a small element of enabling code to each page on your website that you want to be speech-enabled.
When this code is added, and the website is enabled on the ROKTalk remote system, the text-to-speech facility will be enabled for the voice and language you have subscribed to. All visitors to your website will then be able to use ROKTalk the moment they arrive.
End users
End users should require no extra downloads or services to use ROKTalk. You almost certainly already have the required software installed and enabled on your computer.
The only requirements are that Flash is installed on your machine, and that JavaScript is enabled on your web browser - the overwhelming majority of Internet-enabled computers have these settings activated already.
In the unlikely event that ROKTalk does not work for you, consult our Technical Requirements page, which provides step-by-step advice for ensuring that Flash and JavaScript are activated.
