The right-click function is a unique accessibility feature of Talklets. Simply hold the cursor over a word and right-click (PC) and a pop-up box appears which gives access to the dictionary, thesaurus and, in some cases a context-sensitive pronunciation feedback mechanism allowing users to contribute to Talklets pronunciation lexicon.
On specialist websites, the ability to extend right-click to encompass a 'jargon buster' facility is a particularly useful facility as it allows explanations of abbreviations and acronymns to be spoken to site visitors. A custom control panel facility can be provided to website owners to allow the regular input of explanations of jargon, alongside the 'tuning' of pronunciations to optimise the spoken content.
Thesaurus
The Talklets thesaurus, available at the moment in English only, is accessed via the PC right-click function which produces the Talklets pop-up window. The word under the cursor will be searched in the Talklets thesaurus and the alternative meanings read to you in the normal Talklets manner.
Dictionary
The Talklets dictionary operates in the same manner as the thesaurus and is, likewise, currently available in English only. It is accessed via the PC right-click function which produces the Talklets pop-up window. The word under the cursor will be searched in the Talklets dictionary and the meanings read to you in the normal Talklets manner. Specialist terms and word on non-UK origin may not yet be available in the dictionary, although its range is being expanded all the time.
