Paul Ayres

CEO Paul Ayres has worked in the technology sector for the past twenty years, specialising in start-up operations. His background is in sales and marketing and in 1995, Paul was appointed General Manager and Managing Director of Netscape Communications in Northern Europe where he built the fastest growing and most profitable business unit in the Company.

In 1997, Paul was recruited to establish RealNetworks in Europe, he established a highly successful organisation across Europe. More recently, Paul was the President and CEO of Authoriszor Inc, a NASDAQ listed Internet security vendor where he was responsible for the commercial turnaround of the business from a $20 million loss to a profitable performance within 18 months. He ran dyslexia focused start up BrightStar in the UK and established the Company’s profitable trading platform, while most recently, Paul was appointed as interim CEO of AIM listed Creative Education Corporation plc.

Jeremy Coulter

Chief Operating Officer, Jeremy Coulter, co-founded Textic in 2004. Previously he was founder and MD of The WebSite Consultancy, now SiteSet Ltd, a respected agency providing web development services to business, with clients including Ladbrokes, Sporting Index, St James's Place, SC Johnson, Clorox, Clarion, Armor All and STP.

Jeremy is a former motoring journalist, author and PR consultant, as well as designer of the popular SiteSet website management system which now runs more than 1000 websites in the UK. In his former journalistic career, he was author of several notable motoring books, and was for ten years a senior editor of Classic Cars magazine, at that time one of the top selling motoring magazines in the UK, as well as being a rally team owner, Caterham, Porsche and MG race driver, and winner of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship 1991 in his Mini Cooper S.

Phil Teare

Chief Technology Officer and architect of the Talklets system, Phil Teare has a goal of dramatically and practically improving access to information and services, for people with barriers to literacy, through the use of affordable or 'free-to-end-user' technologies. His focus is on practical, utilitarian improvement for such service users.

His secondary ambitions include wanting to improve the general level of understanding of the causes of such barriers to access amongst the general populous. A personal interest in dyslexia (he is dyslexic) affords Phil both insight and drive in these areas.

David West

Head of Sales, David brings a wealth of sales and general management experience to Textic, with over 25 years in the IT industry. He has built successful sales teams in software, as well as services and outsourcing sectors, and has consistently built businesses from small- to large-scale in terms of both profitability and revenue.

In his last role he was responsible for the full UK P &L of a market-leading integration software vendor with a turnover of $15 million and a staff of 50. Earlier he ran the UK arm of a top ten Indian services organization, with a staff of over 500 and a turnover of $30 million.

Steve Kennedy

Chief Strategy Officer, Steve has over 20 years' experience in the Telecoms/Internet/Mobile industries. He was involved with internet in the UK before it had a commercial presence, internet streaming from its beginning (he was the first UK Real Networks customer), and set-up the first Internet Dance Radio Station (Gaialive.com). Steve was also involved with the first netcast of BigBrother (UK).

He is an acknowledged "independent Industry expert" and uses those abilities in consulting and working with a number of investment partners on various projects. Steve also is a freelance journalist writing on technology subjects.

Rob Smith

Rob joined Textic in April 2008 as part time Finance Director Designate. Rob has an MSc in Management Accounting and is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 25 years finance experience in the technology sector.

Rob is currently a director of Curidium Medica plc; an AIM listed personalised medicine company and has previously held Finance Director positions with Eco City Vehicles plc, who listed on AIM via a reverse acquisition in 2007, and Densitron Technologies plc (2002 to 2006) where he was also Chief Executive. His recent experience covers divestments, mergers and acquisitions, fund raising, company turnarounds and AIM listing. Rob has considerable international experience both in Asia and the United States.
